Chris is Schantz Law’s delegate from the Grand Canyon State who strives to bring some of the sunshine from his homeland into his work. Chris is a lifelong Sun Devil and graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. Prior to becoming an attorney, Chris spent time writing for newspapers and magazines in Arizona where he covered music, movies, local culture and entertainment. During his time as a journalist he had distinctions including investigating a bomb scare that turned out to be someone brewing beer and having Will Ferrell step on his foot. Chris also earned an award from the Arizona Press Club for sports reporting for an article that he wrote about a professional wrestling organization that was operating out of a local bar.
Alas, the excitement of the ring was no match for the excitement of the law as Chris moved across the country to attend law school at Rutgers School of Law. At Rutgers, Chris served as the Editor in Chief of the Rutgers Law Record and earned a certificate for pro bono service during law school. After law school, Chris relocated to Oregon to pursue his legal career and start a family.
Chris is drawn to family law because he has an interest in helping people navigate the most personal and important matters in their lives. He strives to do so with an open mind and honesty. Chris has a particular interest in helping children and ensuring that they be able to enjoy childhood and develop into well-rounded adults.
When Chris isn’t working, you are most likely to find him wrestling with his kids, playing guitar, shagging flies on the softball field or covering himself in mud at an obstacle course.
